Passing of Samuel Mwangi Macharia Zietlow

On 4 December 2011, Samuel (Sam) went missing, assumed drowned, whilst swimming near Cabarita Beach. A dedicated search found Sam several days later, confirming the sad news that his life had ended. Sam's passing was devastating for all of his family and friends in Kenya and Tweed, Tweed Shire Council staff and his school family at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School. Sam’s life story was one of hope and everyone that knew him was deeply saddened by the tragic ending to what was otherwise a life full of promise and opportunity. Sam was laid to rest at Tweed Valley Cemetery on 21 December 2011.

You can download a copy of Sam's Order Of Service (933kB PDF) , his Eulogy (107kB PDF) and a Letter from Sam's Uncle Phillip to Sam's School (173kB PDF). Sam's legacy will continue to be an inspiration to all involved in the Tweed Kenya Mentoring Program.
